LEXINGTON COUNTY, S.C. (WIS) - A South Carolina state trooper was hit after a crash in Lexington County early Tuesday.

The South Carolina Highway Patrol confirmed to WIS that a trooper was hit by a vehicle in the area of Augusta Road and airlifted to a hospital.

No further details on the trooper’s condition were immediately available.

The Lexington County Sheriff’s Department stated that the crash has shut down all lanes of Augusta Highway between Lost Branch Road and Calks Ferry Road due to the collision.

This marks the third time a South Carolina state trooper has been hit in a Midlands crash in the span of a month.
