BIRMINGHAM, Ala. ( WBRC ) - Good afternoon!

Today: High pressure to our northeast is keeping central Alabama dry and sunny today. A light northeast breeze is in place, and that pattern should hold through much of the week.

This afternoon, temperatures should end up in the mid-80s, with another comfortable night in the lower 60s.

By Wednesday, we’re expecting readings in the upper 80s, followed by low 90s as we move into Thursday and Friday.

The Next Big Thing: Looking ahead to the weekend and early next week, the dry stretch continues. Afternoon highs should climb into the low-to-mid 90s, with mornings starting off in the 60s.

The Tropics: The tropics remain quiet in the Atlantic Basin as we head into the peak of the Atlantic Hurricane Season.
