CLAXTON, Tenn. (WATE) — A playground in Anderson County is being removed at the end of the year. The county plans to seek public opinion about what to replace it with.

Anderson County Mayor Terry Frank told 6 News that the county terminated the easement for the land where the Claxton Kids Palace Playground is located. The easement will end on December 1, 2025. The Anderson County Conservation Board also voted to stop maintenance efforts on the playground by December and to work with the Tennessee Valley Authority to remove the structure. Frank added that TVA agreed to take responsibility for removing the playground, which she says will save taxpayer funds.
