A 51-year-old man was arrested and charged in connection with a traffic stop in Glovertown that resulted in the seizure of contraband tobacco, cannabis, and a large quantity of pills.
RCMP, who pulled a vehicle over on the Main Road in Glovertown around 9:00 last night, noticed a suspicious substance inside.
The driver was arrested, and a subsequent search of the car resulted in the seizure of a quantity of contraband cigarettes, cannabis at a quantity above the legal limit, several bottles of prescription drugs and other items consistent with drug trafficking.
The driver has charged with trafficking in a controlled substance and trafficking in cannabis.
The investigation continues.
