CAPE GIRARDEAU COUNTY, Mo. (KFVS) - A lake improvement and shelter relocation project is underway at Cape County Park North.
According to county leaders, the lake improvement project includes site upgrades aimed at improving watershed alignment, shoreline stability and visitor amenities.
They say work will reduce the lake’s footprint to better match the natural watershed, stabilize eroding banks and prepare the west side of the lake for the relocation of shelters 4 and 5.
The shelter relocation will include a new playground, an expanded parking lot with space for about 200 vehicles and dedicated bus parking and a new restroom facility.
