(KRON) -- A woman who allegedly told police she was “having a bad morning” when she carjacked an elderly man in Daly City and drove to Solano County was sentenced Monday to one year of county jail, according to the San Mateo County District Attorney’s Office.
Melissa Ann Peace, 39, pleaded no contest to felony carjacking and admitted to the serious and violent felony allegations.
On the morning of July 14, the 79-year-old victim had just dropped off his girlfriend at a bus stop and was in his car looking at his phone when Peace began punching his window, according to prosecutors. The man got out of his car and told Peace he was calling the police.
After shoving the man aside, Peace got in the car and drove away, the DA’s office said. The victim called police, and Peace was later located
