Saanich staff are headed back to the drawing board to come up with a phased approach to replace the operations centre after a failed Alternate Approval Process, with delays on the project estimated at $400,000 per month.

The district previously held an AAP, which is a process where a project is approved unless at least 10 per cent of residents submit forms opposing it.

Saanich’s AAP needed 8,735 opposition forms submitted, and there were 11,110 valid forms submitted by the deadline, defeating the AAP.
