EAST ALTON, Ill. (WILX) - A Michigan man has been charged with making terrorist threats in Illinois.

Jarrett Maki, 25, from Detroit is accused of making bomb and active shooter threats to businesses in East Alton, Illinois.

Maki was charged alongside Illinois man Austin Blair.

The investigation began in July when businesses began receiving threatening phone calls. Police say the threats caused many businesses to close early.

Police determined the phone calls came from a home in East Alton, Illinois.

On Wednesday, Sept. 3, police executed a search warrant on the 200 block of Niagara Street in East Alton. Evidence was seized and Blair was arrested.

On Sept. 6, police located Maki at the World-Wide Technology Raceway in Madison, Illinois.
