CHESTNUT HILL – Tackling.

That was the topic du jour in the Boston College football office on Sunday morning in the wake of Saturday night’s 42-41 double-overtime loss to Michigan State at Spartan Stadium in East Lansing, Michigan.

Tackling was a “point of emphasis” during Tuesday morning’s practice as BC coach Bill O’Brien readied his troops for the Eagles’ ACC opener next Saturday night (10:30 p.m. EST) against the Stanford Cardinal at Stanford Stadium.

“We were positioned to make tackles, and we practice tackling every day,” said O’Brien after a spirited workout on the grass fields adjacent to the Fish Field House.
