COLUMBIA, S.C. — Work is underway on a long-anticipated project at Saluda Shoals Park that will eventually connect the park to the Lake Murray Dam.

Construction crews have begun Phase 1 of the Saluda Shoals Riverwalk, a new trail that will expand public access along the Saluda River.

While progress is being made, park officials stress that the trail remains under construction and is not open to the public at this time.

Phase 1 is expected to be completed and open by late 2026. Officials say more updates will be shared as construction continues.
