LSU redshirt sophomore defensive tackle Sydir Mitchell is no longer on the team, according to the Tigers' online roster.
Mitchell was on the team for No. 3 LSU's first two games, but he did not play against Clemson or Louisiana Tech.
On3 first reported the news Tuesday.
Mitchell, who's 6-foot-6 and 355 pounds, transferred to LSU in December after two years at Texas. The Tigers' defensive line coach at the time was Bo Davis , who had originally recruited Mitchell to Texas.
Davis left for the same job with the New Orleans Saints two months later, and LSU hired Kyle Williams to coach the defensive tackles.
Mitchell recorded seven tackles in nine games at Texas. He was a four-star recruit ranked 207th overall in the 2023 recruiting class, according to the 247Sports composite.
