Pittsburgh Steelers safety DeShon Elliott is expected to miss ‘multiple weeks’ with an MCL Sprain, according to Jordan Schultz of Fox Sports. The team signed Jabrill Peppers to help fill the void in the meantime.
The injury occurred on a run to the outside when Elliott was outside the pile of players. As he started to make the tackle, his left knee bent awkwardly. He stayed down before limping off the field and having his helmet taken.
The Steelers listed Elliott as doubtful to return before ruling him out shortly thereafter. Veteran safety Chuck Clark was the next man up, while Jalen Ramsey could also shift inside to play more safety.
