Logan - Utah State University and The American Red Cross are doing a Blood Drive.

This week was the 22nd annual Blood Battle with Utah State University and Weber State University.

Kimberli Trusty is the event organizer for the American Red Cross.

“Our goal is 400 units this week. Every unit of blood can save up to three lives,” said Trusty

With 400 units of blood, it can save up to 1200 lives.

On the first day of the blood battle they raised 107 units.

“After our first day...we collected 107 units, which is 25% of our goal,” said Trusty.

Michael Lugo is the team lead with The American Red Cross.

Anyone with a driver's license and over the age of 18 can donate blood.

“I have had somebody that’s as old as 96 before,” said Lugo.
