WEST FARGO — The 45th annual Big Iron and Construction Show in West Fargo kicked off Tuesday, Sept. 9.

With more than 900 exhibitor booths to explore, the event is held at the Red River Valley Fairgrounds and is the largest show of its kind in the Upper Midwest.

Visitors can watch training sessions and demonstrations, and the show provides an opportunity to connect people in the agriculture and construction business.

One vendor said he has noticed lower attendance at the farm shows he has attended this year, but he is still eager to meet with farmers in the region.

“Attendance has been down at all shows this year. You know, some shows are obviously better than others. With the tight farm economy, low commodity prices has definitely affected attendance at farm shows,” said Ernie Porter,
