VERNON, Conn. — Two brothers from Connecticut who were separated by the Civil War have been reunited 160 years later by a new exhibit at the New England Civil War Museum in Rockville.
Seth Frederick Plum and Will Plum, who both served in the Union Army, were among the 50,000 Connecticut men sent to fight in the war. For the first time since June 1864, their uniforms and personal effects are together in one place.
“Now, through all the years, and all the places their uniforms have traveled, this is the first time the two are together,” said Dan Hayden, executive director of the museum.
Though it may look like just another Civil War display, Hayden says this reunion is deeply personal.
