FRANKFORT, Ky. (FOX 56) — Student performance is still struggling to rebound from the pandemic. A new report is giving a post-COVID look at how the students are performing nationwide, referred to as the ‘Nation’s Report Card.’
“I think the most important thing is to look at the trend over time,” Brigitte Blom told FOX 56 News.
The National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP) has released new scores for 2024, the newest update since 2019. All three performance areas that were examined, eighth-grade science, 12th-grade reading, and 12th-grade math, reported the lowest scores since NAEP began collecting data.
“What NAEP is telling us is that we're seeing historic declines in mathematics and science-related material. In a STEM-related economy, an AI-driven economy for the future, math
