SHELBYVILLE, Ky. — Three people face murder charges for the death of Tim Ethington in late August. Shelby County Sheriff Captain Blake Lisby said those three planned on, or attempted, robbing Ethington “until it took a turn for the worse and ended up with his murder.”

"From what we've gathered, there weren’t a lot of items gathered from the residence,” Lisby said, describing the suspected murder as “a very senseless act of violence that the community just wants to know why."

"Some of the involved parties we've spoken with have stated that they didn't know this was gonna happen; this wasn't supposed to happen, but it did,” Lisby added.

Louisville Metro Police's criminal interdiction unit apprehended one suspect, Rodney Isgrigg Jr., on city streets.
