A man has been charged after police allegedly found a homemade firearm in his car on Tuesday.
About midday, the police intercepted the 34-year-old's vehicle at Sandy Bay during routine patrols.
A homemade handgun was concealed in the car and found by police during the stop.
The Glenorchy man was arrested and charged with a string of offences, including possessing a firearm without a licence, possessing an item used to administer a controlled drug, possessing a controlled drug, breaching a restraint order, and breaching bail conditions.
He will appear in the Hobart Magistrates Court today.
