DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. — A teen pleaded guilty to all charges in a "senseless shooting" of an 11-year-old in DeKalb County outside of a skating rink.

Cam'ron Mealing was 13 years old when the shooting sent D'Mari Johnson, 11, to the hospital with severe injuries, the district attorney's office said.

On April 9, 2022, gunfire broke out at around 11 p.m. outside of the Golden Glide Skating rink on Wesley Chapel Road. The DA's Office said when officers arrived, they found the young victim lying unconscious in the parking lot with a gunshot wound to his head. First responders took him to Children's Healthcare of Atlanta.

While he survived, the DA's office said he lives with ongoing physical and emotional effects.
