A pensioner is appealing for help to trace one of his old teachers - after a fleeting reunion left him desperate to meet again.

Brian Aird from Folkestone, briefly bumped into Mr Booth in a Tesco car park this summer – but the pair didn’t exchange details.

Now the 82-year-old hopes the community can help him track down the retired teacher, who is now 99.

Mr Aird, of Brabner Close, told KentOnline: “I was so pleased to see him. I’d love to see him again to reminisce.

“With a bit of luck, something might come out of this interview.”

The chance encounter happened on Thursday, August 28, when Mr Aird was waiting in the car park at the Cheriton supermarket while his wife Sheila was shopping.
