FRESNO, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – Fresno State is preparing to face off against Southern University on Saturday.

It's a historic matchup, as it marks the very first time the Dogs will go against a Historically Black College or University (HBCU).

The Southern University Human Jukebox Marching Band will also make a Central Valley stop.

Steve McKeithen is the Director of the Bulldog Marching Band and says they don't usually get groups that come in from other universities.

"It's a real treat when we get to see another band perform," he said.

McKeithen says Fresno students are focused on performing at the highest level possible.
