Mike McCarthy has won a Super Bowl. The Greenfield native has a better career winning percentage (.608) than Pro Football Hall of Famers such as Tom Landry (.607), Bill Parcells (.569) and Chuck Noll (.566), and he’s one of just five NFL head coaches to lead one franchise to eight consecutive playoff appearances.

Yet the most crucial drives and the fiercest competition for McCarthy this season won’t come on a football field.

After parting ways with the Cowboys in January, McCarthy is sitting this season out and intentionally trying to spend as much time as possible with his wife, Jessica, and their blended family of five kids.
