Police have issued an update after a motorcyclist died following a crash in Failsworth .

Emergency services attended Partington Street at around 3.40pm on Tuesday afternoon (September 9) following a crash involving a motorbike and a car.

Greater Manchester Police says the motorcyclist, a 46-year-old man, tragically died at the scene.

A cordon was put in place on Partington Street throughout Tuesday evening, between Ashton Road West and Wagstaff Drive.

A forensic tent was seen within the cordon, with the collision believed to have taken place close to a parade of shops.

In an update issued this morning (Wednesday), the force urged witnesses to come forward following the crash.
