An Anne Arundel County nonprofit that has staged superstars like ABBA and the folky New Christy Minstrels, as well as home-grown acts including local legend Ernie Green , is poised to mount its 50th season starting next week.
The South County Concert Association aims to bring nationwide artists to southern Anne Arundel County and boasts around 500 subscribers.
Betty Knupp, who now serves as the association’s vice president, has been with the group from the beginning.
“I was a member of the board of directors of Davidsonville Area Civic Association, and it came up as an agenda item that there was a group of people who would like to start a concert association in South County. And so they asked a volunteer to come to that initial meeting, and I volunteered,” Knupp said. “I’ve served i
