Needham senior Greta Hammer won last year’s Division I Meet of Champions by crossing the finish line nearly 14 seconds before the next closest runner. While she took home the individual title, the Rockets finished fifth as a team. After winning the D-IA championship race, coach Sue McNatt’s squad had hoped for a better performance.

“It was a slight disappointment,” she said. “We needed a little bit of a reset, but we bounced back with a really good regional race at NXR.”
