MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- Two former police officers are expected in Federal court on Wednesday morning, seeking a change in their bond conditions after being granted a new trial in the death of Tyre Nichols.

Demetrius Haley is seeking to be released from federal custody, and Justin Smith wants his ankle monitor to be removed.

Haley and Smith's attorneys both filed the motions, citing good behavior and compliance. This comes after a judge granted Haley, Smith, and Tadarrius Bean a new trial last month.

This decision followed allegations of bias by Judge Mark Norris, who recused himself from the case days before sentencing in June.
