CEDAR FALLS – Northern Iowa was playing its fourth match in six days Tuesday.
The Panthers needed every bit of juice they could find as they faced in-state rival Iowa State looking for a second consecutive victory over the Cyclones.
A stellar crowd of 5,170, the sixth largest for a volleyball match in McLeod Center history, delivered the electricity.
Buoyed by a loud and raucous crowd, UNI dominated en route to a 25-20, 26-28, 25-19, 25-19 victory over Iowa State.
“It was so much fun, it was awesome. We fed off the energy,” junior captain Cassidy Hartman said.
UNI head coach said the Panther faithful delivered at a time when her team needed it the most.
