A murder investigation has been launched after a man was found dead after a house fire. Emergency services were called to a house fire on Wootton Avenue in Fletton, Peterborough on Sunday (September 7) just after 3.30am.

Zbigniew Wasiak, 59, was found dead inside the property. A post-mortem examination will take place on Wednesday (September 10).

A joint investigation led by Cambridgeshire Police and Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue found an accelerant was used by a third party to start a fire. Police are treating the incident as a murder and are investigating.
