You may know by now that Air Canada has revealed its initial long-haul Airbus A321XLR routes, with many more to come. They include Montreal to Palma de Mallorca , which will take off next June in time for the peak season . It will be the first time Mallorca (and the Balearic Islands generally) has had any scheduled service from Canada.

Air Canada has also confirmed two more XLR routes: Montreal to Toulouse and Montreal to Edinburgh ( which some prematurely thought might be ending ). The two-class, 182-seat equipment will replace the Boeing 787-8 to Toulouse and the 737 MAX 8 to the Scottish capital. Unless things change in the meantime, they'll be France and the UK's first long-haul XLR flights. But neither link is sufficiently long to make the following list .
