AUSTIN, Texas (KLTV) - Gov. Greg Abbott is expected to issue an executive order that sets age requirements and other restrictions on THC products.
The anticipated order comes after the Legislature ended its second special session of the year without reaching an agreement on what these restrictions should be.
Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick announced at the House last week that the Senate and Abbott would not reach a deal on the matter. Patrick has been set on a full ban on THC products in the state, but Abbott is calling for regulatory framework like the one he outlined on page three of his Senate bill veto letter . That letter calls for the sale of THC products to minors to be considered a criminal offense. Sales near schools are prohibited, and packaging must be child-resistant, tamper-evident,
