Niagara Region Chair Jim Bradley remained hospitalized Wednesday after suffering an apparent transient ischemic attack (TIA), a temporary condition with stroke-like symptoms that end within 24 hours.

Niagara Emergency Medical Services paramedics took the 80-year-old Bradley, to hospital on Aug. 26 following a Niagara Transit Commission meeting at regional headquarters in Thorold.

Andrew Korchok, the chair’s chief of staff, said the symptoms resolved themselves quickly, and Bradley returned home later that evening.

However, three days later, on Aug. 29, Bradley was admitted to hospital after experiencing a new set of symptoms, which were resolved but required a hospital stay to recover his strength before returning home.
