HARTLAND, Maine (WABI) - A person was fatally shot by police in Hartland Wednesday morning.

The Somerset County Sheriff’s Office says they went to search a home on Main Street around 5:30 a.m.

They say when they entered the home, the owner of the house, Isaac Robinson, approached deputies with a knife.

Authorities say they asked Robinson to drop the weapon, but he refused.

That’s when officials shot Robinson who was pronounced dead at the scene.

The deputies who shot Robinson have been placed on administrative leave which is standard protocol.
