RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- Travelers heading to Richmond International Airport (RIC) may notice a change in parking. Airport officials announced on Wednesday that the airport’s parking garages are temporarily closed while crews complete major upgrades to the overhead lighting system.

On Wednesday, Sept. 10, officials said drivers are being directed to the Economy B lot during the closures. From there, RIC’s EasyPark shuttles will pick passengers up directly from their vehicles and provide a short ride to the terminal.

The airport has not announced how long the upgrades will take but says the temporary change is designed to improve safety and convenience for travelers in the long run.
