Local woman wants to tell her story so others don’t get caught up in the “jury duty” scam

ROANOKE, Va. (WDBJ) - It was a horrifying experience for one local woman - one that scammed her out of thousands of dollars.

It’s called the jury duty scam. You may have heard of it. And you may think you wouldn’t fall for it.

But Here @ Home had the chance to catch up with Linda Kay Simmons about how the scammers had her completely caught up in believing their lies, lies that had her believing she owed thousands of dollars.

Now - she wants to warn others on how sophisticated - and believable - scammers can be - so you, too, don’t become a victim.
