BELTON, S.C. – A South Carolina man was arrested after deputies say he poured boiling water on his great-niece, leaving her with severe burns that required hospitalization at a burn center.
The Anderson County Sheriff’s Office said the incident happened Friday afternoon at a residence on Misty Circle in Belton. Deputies arrested Gregory Bernard Campbell, who is accused of intentionally using boiling water to injure his 24-year-old relative.
The victim was transported to the Augusta Burn Center for treatment of her injuries, authorities said. Her current condition has not been released.
Campbell was booked into the Anderson County Detention Center and charged with assault and battery. He has since posted bond and been released.
