Northwest Ohio immigration activists are raising concerns following a Supreme Court decision on immigration enforcement stops.
The Supreme Court has lifted restrictions on immigration enforcement tactics in California, freezing a district court's temporary restraining order. The restraining order prevented federal immigration authorities from stopping people without reasonable suspicion that they are immigrants lacking permanent legal status.
Justice Brett Kavanaugh wrote in the Supreme Court's decision that "… apparent ethnicity alone cannot furnish reasonable suspicion... under this Court's case law regarding immigration stops however, it can be a 'relevant factor.'"
