THE BRONX, N.Y. (PIX11) — A Bronx mom accused of killing her newborn twins in 2020 was indicted for murder on Wednesday, according to the District Attorney.
On Nov. 9, 2020, one of the two infants was found unconscious in an alleyway by the building super of 1460 College Ave. in Claremont, according to detectives at the time. The other was discovered in a black garbage bag by first responders.
The mother, 36-year-old Stephanie Castillo, lived on the fourth floor of the building at the time, Bronx D.A. Darcel Clark said. Sources said she had just given birth to the babies in her apartment.
Medical examiners determined they were both alive at the time, but died later due to blunt force trauma to the head and body.
