The Santa Maria Fire Department will host tributes to first responders and civilians who lost their lives during the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks in 2001, at City fire stations on Thursday morning.
Starting at 7:20 a.m., fire apparatus will be pulled out on the front driveways at each station, with a short ceremony scheduled to start at 7:30 a.m.
The ceremonies are part of the City of Santa Maria's efforts to remember those who died, who survived, and those who have been otherwise impacted by the tragedies surrounding the attacks in New York, Washington D.C., and Pennsylvania.
Firefighters, police officers, emergency medical personnel, military personnel, and the public are invited to attend the tribute and reflect on the events that took place.
In an invitation to residents, the Fire De
