JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (KY3) - The nation is watching Missouri as it considers a proposal to redraw the state’s congressional districts in an effort to increase the number of Republican seats in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Two high-ranking Ohio Democrats spoke at a rally on Wednesday at the Missouri Capitol. Ohio Minority Leader Rep. Dani Isaacsohn and Assistant Minority Whip Rep. Desiree Tims offered support and solidarity to Missouri Democrats as the redistricting battle moved to the state senate.

“This is a national fight that President Trump is waging against the American people to try and steal congressional districts,” State Rep. Isaacsohn said.

The Missouri Senate got off to a slow start Wednesday, as Democratic senators attempted to stall the special session for a few hours.
