PROSPER, Texas — In Prosper, a brand-new high school is changing the conversation about what success looks like after graduation.
Richland High School, which opened its doors this fall, is on a mission to prepare students for careers that don’t all require a four-year college degree.
A New Vision for Education
“Forever, it was, everybody's got to go to college. Everybody's got to go to college, and we are all for that, right? College is a life-changing experience, but for some of our kids, that's not what they want to do,” said Principal Luke Kroy. “They want the opportunity to make a good living for themselves, and this was a way for us to meet the needs of more students.”
