New Zealand police are ramping up their pursuit of the mystery figures who helped fugitive father Tom Phillips evade authorities, as new eerie photos of his bush camp hideaway were released.

Phillips spent nearly four years on the run with his three kids before he was killed in police shootout after robbing a farm supplies store in the town of Piopio in the North Island’s Waikato region early Monday morning.

“We are currently looking at a number of items at the site. Aside from the burglaries we are now able to link to Tom, it is apparent that he had outside help,” Det-Sen Sgt. Andrew Saunders said.

“As the investigation has been going on, we’ve always suspected Tom Phillips has been receiving help,” he said.
