WALHALLA, S.C. (FOX Carolina) - The City of Walhalla has issued a boil-water advisory after a fire hydrant was replaced on Wednesday.

Officials said the fire hydrant was in the area of 3820 Blue Ridge Boulevard.

The boil-water advisory is in effect for customers along Thompson Avenue, Moore Avenue, East Main Street, Todd Street, Harrison Avenue, and surrounding areas. They are asked to vigorously boil their water for at least three minutes before using it for drinking, cooking, or food preparation, officials said.

Officials report water samples will be taken and tested. The city will notify customers when the advisory is lifted.
