New Haven volunteers today will again focus on acts of service to honor Patriot Day, which annually recognizes the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks.
New Haven is one of many communities across the country participating in the day of service. The city started its tradition in 2020.
Volunteers from SDI La Farga Copperworks and Lake City Bank will help with a community beatification project led by the United Way of Allen County, a New Haven news release said. That project starts at 8:30 a.m. today at the 909 Community Gathering Place on Main Street.
The beautification will include trash removal, cleaning and wall painting.
The city will also host a car seat safety inspection clinic from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Fire Station No. 3, 910 Hartzell Road. Certified technicians will inspect and ins
