Peters Township girls soccer coach Pat Vereb believes his team have given themselves a great chance to position themselves in the postseason, as the No. 2 Indians (4-0-2, 3-0-0) knocked off No. 1 Upper St. Clair (4-1-2, 1-1-1), 2-0, in Section 2 on Wednesday thanks to first-half goals from Rylie Busch and Mandy Pirosko.

“We’ve got a really competitive section, this is just an important win for us overall. We’re trying to win a section and get a good seat for the WPIAL playoffs,” Vereb said.

Vereb isn’t totally resting on his laurels, as he knows just how tough it is to play against USC, and that things will certainly be different if they meet again.
