MINNEAPOLIS — Less than two weeks before he was scheduled to speak at the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis, conservative activist Charlie Kirk was shot and killed on a college campus in Utah.
Republican State Sen. Julia Coleman said she got her start in politics working for Kirk. "He's a big part of kind of how I got to where I am today," she said. "I think I haven't fully processed what's happening today."
Kirk hired Coleman a decade ago to work for his organization, Turning Point USA, when the now-prominent conservative organization was still in its early stages.
