INDIANAPOLIS — The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department presented its budget plan for 2026 to the City-County Council's Public Safety and Criminal Justice Committee Wednesday night.
IMPD Chief Chris Bailey said he believes the budget ensures that the men and women of IMPD are supported not only in words, but in action. Bailey told the committee this past year has been a year of progress, of opportunities, and continued determination for IMPD officers.
"They faced tremendous pressures, carry heavy burdens and expectations and work through complex challenges daily on our behalf. And yet through it all, their commitment to this city and our community never wavers," Bailey said.
