MUNCIE, Indiana — Muncie police arrested a suspect after a man was stabbed multiple times early Wednesday morning.

Shortly before 4 a.m. Sept. 10, Muncie Police Department officers were called to the 2800 block of South Brotherton Street , near South Macedonia Avenue and East 18th Street, for a report of a dispute at a home.

While officers didn't find any ongoing dispute there, they were told a few minutes later that a 52-year-old man had arrived at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital with multiple stab wounds, the department said in a statement.

That victim's condition was described by police as "stable."

During their investigation, Muncie police arrested a 37-year-old man on preliminary charges of aggravated battery and attempted murder. Formal charges had not yet been filed as of early
