The University of Montana will host three authors this fall as part of the President’s Lecture Series, which are free to the public in person and in some cases via livestream.

Robert Putnam, professor of Public Policy at Harvard University, who will give a talk titled “Making Democracy Work” on Sept. 15.

Poet and Essayist Ross Gay will talk on Oct. 30 about his latest book, “The Book of Delights,” which was the 2025 Griz Read selection and a New York Times bestseller upon its release in 2019.

Richard Reeves’ talk is titled after his latest book, “Boys and Men: Why the Modern Male is Struggling, Why it Matters and What to do About it” on Nov. 6. Former President Barack Obama, The New Yorker and The Economist recognized his title as the “book of the year.”
