SIOUX CITY — A Sioux City man being held in the Woodbury County Jail while awaiting deportation proceedings is challenging an immigration judge's ruling denying him a bond hearing.

The lawyer for Yeison Lopez Lopez contends that the Omaha judge's denial of his bond hearing request on the grounds there's no jurisdiction is based upon a "new and novel interpretation" of the law by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and violates his Fifth Amendment right to due process.
