CLEVELAND, Ohio — A section of the West Shoreway heading toward downtown will be closed for the weekend, beginning at 10 a.m. Friday, to allow for a water main repair.

The closing will affect only eastbound traffic, from West 45th Street to West 28th Street, City Hall announced Wednesday.

Westbound lanes will remain open throughout the repairs, the announcement said. And access to Edgewater Beach and the Edgewater Marina from the West Side will not be affected.

The road is expected to fully reopen for traffic Monday morning.

This is the same area of the highway that was closed earlier this month after a water main burst .

City Hall is advising West Siders heading downtown over the weekend, including those headed to Guardians games, to use either Interstate 90 or Detroit Avenue.
